1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you come back, your browser hands it over again, which is how a site can recognise you or remember a preference.
Some cookies are essential to making a website work at all. Others exist so the owner can measure how the site is used, or so an embedded service from another company can function. This policy explains which of those apply here.
Where a cookie can be linked to you as an individual, the information it holds is personal data and our privacy policy applies to it as well.
2. Your choice, and how we handle it
Nothing non-essential loads until you say yes. When you first arrive you'll see a banner asking about cookies. Until you make a choice, we set only the cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work.
If you decline, analytics and third-party content stay switched off and the site carries on working. Declining does not lock you out of anything.
We treat closing the banner without choosing as a refusal, not as consent.
3. The categories we use
Strictly necessary
These make the site function and remember your cookie choice so you aren't asked on every page. They do not require your consent, because without them the site cannot do what you have asked of it.
Analytics
These tell us which pages people read, how they arrived and where they lose interest. We use it to make the site more useful, not to identify anyone. Off until you accept.
Third-party content
Our online booking calendar and our Google reviews display are provided by other companies. When that content loads, those companies may set their own cookies. Off until you accept.
What we don't use
We do not use advertising cookies, we do not build profiles for targeted advertising, and we do not sell information about your browsing to anybody.

5. A note about our booking calendar
Our booking calendar is embedded from Calendly. Where that content is loaded on our website, Calendly and Make Mortgages Easy are separate and independent data controllers for the information Calendly's cookies collect. That means Calendly is responsible for that information in its own right, under its own privacy notice, as well as us being responsible for our own use of the site.
The same principle applies to our Google reviews display. If you want to know what those companies do with what they collect, their own notices are the place to look.
6. Changing your mind
You can change your cookie choices at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of every page. If you withdraw consent, third-party content will stop loading and analytics cookies will no longer be set. Cookies already on your device can be cleared through your browser.
7. Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking all cookies will stop parts of most websites working properly, including ours.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics across every website you visit by installing Google's own browser add-on.
8. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we add or remove a tool from the website. The current version is always on this page.
